Hi. My hand calculations show that my concrete column will go into tension for my earthquake loading, but the my LEAP Concrete Diagram for the column doesn't show anything for the interaction diagram for a column in tension. Is there a check box that I need to click for the column to show the tension portion of the diagram? It would also be nice if the Moment Demand and Axial Demand were stated as text possibly in the top right corner because if the moment/axial demand is too high it doesn't show up on the chart and you don't know what capacity you are trying to achieve.
Also for the column design report I understand that currently it shows the minimum computed ratio of (φMn/Mu) of all combinations, but I would like to request that a row for maximum axial load and minimum axial load be added to the table. This is the table that I think could be be expanded.
Thank you
As per the RCpier user manual.Only the axial force and moments in the global X and Z-direction are used for the column design. A moment interaction diagram is constructed for each combination. The capacity of a column is determined by the method described on page B-17. The critical combination is chosen from the computed minimum ratio of (fMn/Mu) of all combinations.
Also regarding the request for extra row for maximum axial load and minimum axial load be added to the table.I would like to inform you that this issue resulted in Enhancement 926121, and will be evaluated by the productmanagement team for our regular SELECT updates.
How do I get to the User Manual to see Page B-17? In the Help dropdown for Version 21.01.00.22 the only option similar to a User Manual is the following image which doesn't have page numbers.
I'm not sure if the User Manual will answers this, but how do I get the Moment Interaction Diagram to show the portion of the diagram when the column is in tension? I understand that only the axial force and the moments are designed for, but with the earthquake loading the frame action causes a tension force in one of my columns.
This is the Diagram and a snip of the output for one of these columns. The output shows the Pu is shown as 0 kip and Mz is 3647.9, but that is not what is shown in the Diagram. I believe Pu should be negative in the column design snip and not 0.
Sorry the Page was HC-17 from RCpier Tutorial Manual.
