I don't understand what "As mentioned before only the axial force and moments in the global X and Z-direction are used for the column design." has to do with the output and the diagram not matching. Are you trying to say that the axial force created from frame action isn't considered as part of the axial force displayed in the diagram. If so, I don't understand why that would be. That seems incorrect.

RE: LEAP Concrete Column in Tension

Forgot to mention this in my previous answer , Currently LEAP Concrete Diagram for the column does not show anything for the interaction diagram for a column in tension and also there is no check box that the user can click for the column to show the tension portion of the diagram.

I found that in the Tutorial Manual. This doesn't explain how I can see the part of the moment interaction diagram when the column goes into tension.

It also doesn't really help with why the output and diagram from my previous post don't match. In general the output and diagram match when the column isn't in tension, but it seems like issues are created when the column goes into tension. Have you noticed this before? I'm in Version 21.01.00.22.

RE: LEAP Concrete Column in Tension

If you have OBD then please check this path

In the Help dropdown for Version 21.01.00.22 the only option similar to a User Manual is the following image which doesn't have page numbers.

I'm not sure if the User Manual will answers this, but how do I get the Moment Interaction Diagram to show the portion of the diagram when the column is in tension? I understand that only the axial force and the moments are designed for, but with the earthquake loading the frame action causes a tension force in one of my columns.

This is the Diagram and a snip of the output for one of these columns. The output shows the Pu is shown as 0 kip and Mz is 3647.9, but that is not what is shown in the Diagram. I believe Pu should be negative in the column design snip and not 0.

A moment
interaction diagram is constructed for each combination. The capacity of a column is determined by the method
described on page B-17. The critical combination is chosen from the computed minimum ratio of (fMn/Mu) of all
combinations.

Also regarding the request for extra row for maximum axial load and minimum axial load be added to the table.
I would like to inform you that this issue resulted in Enhancement 926121, and will be evaluated by the product
management team for our regular SELECT updates.
