I am working on a steel bridge rating. I have sections transitioning near supports or cover plates terminating near supports. However, LEAP does not seem to be treating these members as non-prismatic.
According to this section in AASHTO LRFD, C_b should be set to 1 if these sections are non-prismatic:
However, LEAP appears to be calculating the C_b factor at these locations.
Note: These sections do not fall into the 20% length as described below:
Previously a defect was raised to address similar issue and the issue has been fixed in V10.10.20.34 (R2) and LBS V 21.02.00.31.
I would suggest you to download and install the latest version and check the above issue again.
