Hello,
Is there a way to define a girder end distance from the centerline of the cap? By default, LEAP Steel takes the span length as the length of the beam. My DOT requires 3" clearance from face of inverted T stem (or centerline of rectangular bent). When I try to change the beginning of the beam definition and/or length of the beam under "Member Definition," I get a bunch of errors. Attached is a figure to show what I currently have modeled.
Thanks!
If there is bearing offset assigned as shown below in the screenshot.
If the user wants to extend the beam beyond the center line then the length can be inputted
in the over hang definition .
please let me know if the above solution helps you in resolving your issue.

Thanks for the reply. What if I want to shorten the beam so that it is less than the span length? When I create an input for those overhangs, the length of the beam adjusts, but the graphic of the model still shows what I sent in the figure above.
For example, if I input "-27 inches" for the left overhang, the input box resets to 0 and the length of the beam adjusts accordingly. But the beam still intersects the stem of the inverted T
Hi, I have the same question where LEAP is considering the entire span length as beam length. I read the answer here but I don't find the option to change Overhang. I am using the version 20.00.00.41. Did you all end up resolving this issue?
Over hang option is not available in V20.00.00.41 .
i would suggest you to download the current release version where this feature is available.
