I have a bridge modeled in leap bridge steel and trying to understand the analysis results. What is the flange lateral moment in the results for dead or live loads? Are the lateral moments the same for top and bottom flange?
Thank you,
Tewodros
Dead Load: Mz Lat is the lateral flange bending moment and it is with respect to flange's local axis.
Live Load: Similarly, Flange Lateral Moment is the lateral flange bending moment. Depending on the location and application of the live load, it may be a negative or positive (similar to global girder live load results).
Thanks so much, your suggestion worked for me. Dunkinrunsonyou survey
You are welcome.
I'm glad it was helpful
One further question I have is, is the flange lateral moment the same for top flange and bottom flange?
The flange lateral moment is same for top flange and bottom flange.
I hope it helps.
