In LEAP Concrete superstructure module for a pedestrian load case with wide sidewalks (10'+) is there a way to toggle the live load to only be located within the clear roadway or must the distribution factors be computed manually? It appears if the curb width is set high enough, LEAP will place 1 lane outside of the curb, thus applying vehicular live load to a beam that should not receive any.
Thanks
Pedestrian Load :
Please see AASHTO article 3.6.1.6 for pedestrian loading info.
Since conspan assumes equal distribution of load to all the beams so the workaround solution for this issue is
to input Pedestrian Distribution factor manually for each beam.
Live Load :
Similarly for live load user can manually input the LLDF for only those girders where the LL is located.
