Hello,
When I first open the Substructure Module there is a CE load that is imported from LBS. This load only has a couple force in the Y direction acting at the exterior bearings.
However, when the Auto Generation tool is used, lateral forces and a moment are seen.
So my question is - do I need to remove the CE load imported by LBS and use a manually generated one instead?
Additionally, I have seen a lot of responses on this forum indicating that the load case dependencies can be turned off. For example, I have seen many responses saying that only one braking force is needed.
So, my second question is whether this same approach is recommended for CE forces - do I only need one or should there one per LL case?
Thanks
1) if lateral forces and moments are not seen then it is advisable to remove the CE load imported by LBS and use a manually generated one.
2) user can generate multiple BR and CE load cases alone with the live load , but it will create additional load combinations and that will reduce the Analysis time.
So it is not required to generate Braking force & CE force load cases along with the Live loads. Only one braking force and CE force is enough for analysis purpose.
Please check the Bentley communities link which explains how to reduce the analysis time .

Please check the Bentley communities link which explains how to break the dependency of load cases. .

Vinay,
Thanks for confirming that I should replace the imported CE load with a manually imported one.
Also, I will only use one CE load for the benefit of the analysis time.
Just a follow up - do you know why the LBS imported CE load is incorrect? Is there a way I could get the imported load to include everything properly?
You are welcome.
LBS imported CE load is not incorrect , it looks like the program is not importing all the information completely .
It might be a limitation in the program. I shall further test this issue and forward this concern to the product development team.
