Hi,
I modelled a deck and used an alignment for point control, I was able to do it but I noticed that OBM is programmed to model a deck using bspline curves so even if you don't have a curve in your alignment, it will still model a deck with a curve which is not ideal especially on the design of the bridge that I'm working on.
Right now the solution is to go on plan view and then cut the deck using the 3D modelling tools from microstation, but in the future i think the best practice is to have an option to model the deck using Polylines or Bspline curves so that we can turn off the curve on the deck if we want to.Regards,
Cris
Hi Cris,
This also causes some grief for us.
We put support lines at every sharp edge and it creates a pizza of deck solids. We then unite them at the end using the solid tools. Messy but works.
Really hope the point control functionality gets enhanced to avoid workarounds like this.
Regards,
Mark

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the tip, hopefully it will get sorted out soon. I have encountered this issue on most of the bridges that I've worked on.
Cheers,
Maybe try posting the idea in here:

Cris and Mark ... have you tried setting the following values on the deck smaller? Maybe 0.1 and 1.0 respectively?
Hi Steve,
Its already at 0.1 and 1.0, i tried changing it to a smaller value but the curve is still there.
