Subhorizontal Section OTD

Hi, I am looking for a way to create a subhorizontal section. Meaning a layout view at consistent offset of the alignment rather than a horizontal view from up above.

As seen in the figure below. This would ensure to have a view including true length blocks instead of projection lengths.

I think the "Civil Plan" command for creating boundaries is a simple layout view and not a subhorizontal section. Is this assumption right?

And if so, is there a way to create the needed section?

Thanks for any answer!

  • Hi,

You can create such sections with 2 methods:

    1. Use the default Microstation tools to generate drawings and control the callout position and geometry

    2. Use the Civil Plan named boundary option to create the initial drawing; after that move the named boundary on the elevation that you want (the elevation of the cut); if necessary, rotate the named boundary to follow the slope of the profile

    - select the named boundary from the 3d model and change the values of the clip; put something like 10cm for the depths so that you can create a cut through the solid; if you have big value in the depths, you will see the entire solid and not the cut at a given elevation
