LEAP Bridge Steel - Cross-Frame Compression Resistance

I am using LEAP Bridge Steel through OpenBridge Designer CE 2022 Release 1. The LEAP Bridge Steel version is 22.00.02.19.

When running the design check for cross-frames I am noticing that the compression check is incorrectly calculating the elastic flexural buckling resistance (Pe, per AASHTO LRFD 6.9.4.1.2). The error seems to be that the formula for Pe within the program is NOT raising to the second power the value of pi. As a result, the program underestimates the compressive resistance of the angle sections within the cross-frame. I am unable to use the design check from the program as part of the design calculations. Can this be investigated and updated in the next version of the program?

  • Please email me the concerned LBS file so that i can test this issue on my machine.

Please email me the screenshots showing the compression check issue and also the hand calculation showing the discrepancy.

Once confirmed i shall forward this issue to the product development team so that this issue can be fixed in the future release.

I shall email you the Defect number so that the issue can be tracked and used for future reference.
