Hello Everyone,
I would like to use GC in our modeling in OBM in modeling bridge supports because in FC (FunctionalComponents) I encountered some limitations. From what I understood, I should prepare the entire geometry with variables in a separate file and create a GNT (Generated Node Type), which will have the variables set by us as an input (including baseCS, which will be the insertion point for the support). Then import this GNT using GCP file, then bind the variables from GNT to the variables available in OBM using variable mapping and insert props using the "place custom pier" function.
Unfortunately, I ran into some problems and I'm asking for help.
1) How to prepare GCP file for import into OBM? I've searched online, but I haven't found a good explanation of this step anywhere. I know how to prepare GNT in the GC file but i dont know how prepare it for importing it into OBM.
2) Is it possible for someone to share a file that works this way. I watched Alex Mabrich's Presentation from Coffe Corner on December 01, 2022, is it possible to get a file with the support that Alex put into the model? I would like to use this example to learn how to prepare similar geometries.
3) Is it possible to automate assigning ItemTypes to geometries inserted via GC into the main model? I want two geometries generated with one GNT to have two different IT and insert at the same time as solid is generated.
Please correct me if my understanding is wrong.
Thanks
I found the answer to my 1st question, I give it below, maybe it will be useful to someone.
Ad1. Use Packager to export a GCP file from a node that is already created using the GNT function.
Still looking for answers for 2) and 3).
