I am building a curved steel bridge to model using a grillage analysis. I have located hinges according to plans and the hinge location dialog shows them at the correct locations. However, after I run the model the hinges are in a different location than defined. They are also at different location in the STAAD model created within LEAP Steel. Is there a reason the hinges would be relocated during analysis?
I tested this issue in V22.00.02.19 which is the current release version of LBS.
1) The file is Tutorial 2 curved Steel bridge file.2) I assigned Hinges at different location for testing purpose.3) I ran the grillage analysis and completed the analysis.4) I rechecked the location of hinges and the program did retain the location.5) The program did not move the hinges to different location.
I was unable to replicate the issue.
I did managed to find a workaround in my model if I used support 1 as the reference point for all the hinges. I did have a combination of curved & tangent segments so potentially that causes the issues?
I'm glad you we able to find a workaround solution.
Thank you for the update.
Thanks ,
Vinay
