Hi,
I noticed that the trapezoidal load applied as abutment load under EQ load case is not being added to the EQ load effects.
For example:
I ran the model for following trapezoidal load -
I get the following results -
Then I changed the trapezoidal load to zero -
And I get the same results as before -
I did not auto generate the EQ loads. I calculated the loads outside of the software and input them in the EQ load case dialog box.
Could you please provide assistance on the above issue? Thanks.
I was able to replicate the issue when Trapezoidal load is applied on the abutment.
The workaround solution for this issue is to
1) Apply an equivalent Seismic force (in Kips) in Z direction at the requisite height.
2) Then select Extreme event Seismic group I load group.
This should solve the issue and in the meantime i shall forward your findings to the product development team.
