I'm attempting to simulate how thermal loads may affect the backfill behind an integral abutment by deploying PLAXIS 2D. I modelled the concrete bridge deck as a Linear Plate element and included a prescribed displacement near the top of the abutment. The applied displacement was calculated using the span of the concrete deck, the concrete's thermal expansion coefficient, and the temperature change.
I have two questions:
1. How can I account for the concrete bridge deck's creep and shrinkage deformation over time in this scenario?2. How do I replicate a variety of cyclic loads? i.e., the number of loading cycles near the top of the bridge abutment, such as 200
