Question

Is there a way to adjust the POI so that the cap is not analyzing the flexure at location 0? Even when hooking bars the effective steel is still computed as 0. How do I get beyond this error?

 On cap design tab, look for the checkbox "Show Cap End Results" and make sure it is not checked (see screen shot below).

Why do they have the option to show those end results? Would there ever be a situation where it would not produce an error?

POIs are automatically generated. By default, the option for cap end results is not checked which means those results are not shown. At face of concrete, effective rebar area is zero (due to development length) does not matter what type of hook you are using.
