Anyone use Conbox v8i here?
For each live load you defined, there is a "side-by-side" option that you "edit a side-by-side live load associated with one of the project live loads"?
What the "side-by-side" live load means?
The side-by-side option in CONBOX allows you to apply the provisions of LRFD Art. 4.6.2.2.5 Special Loads with Other Traffic.
SBS: Side-by-Side live load responses use the following equations:
· LLRsp = LLRsp(PermitLL) * DF1/Z + LLRsp(DesignLL) * (DFm-DF1/Z)
Where,
· DF1 is the single lane distribution factor
· DFm is the multiple lane distribution factor
· LLRsp(Permit) is the live load response for the "permit" live load
· LLRsp(DesignLL) is the live load response for the "Design" live load
Since DF1 for LRFD includes a multiple presence factor, it needs to be removed; the Z factor accomplishes this since it is 1.2 for LRFD and 1.0 for LFD.
Thanks skan,
I'm modeling a concrete box girder bridge with multiple lanes. The live load is HL93 and P13 load. The P13 is allowed to load on one lane at most. Shall I define a HL93 load associated with a side-by-side P13 load which will be applied to strength II combo only?
If it is, then for other load combo, like strength I, Shall I use HL93 without associated with side-by-side P13 load?
