Several Questions:
I am rating a composite beam in LFD and I am getting different section properties and capacities than the LARS program versus another program. Has anyone else had this problem?
What does the Description/Analysis options/ LFD moment redistribution box do if checked/unchecked?
LARS steel sections properties are usually the same as many programs.
If the Description/Analysis Codes/LFD Moment Redistribution option is checked, LARS will perform the moment redistribution as specified in AASHTO Standard Specification 10.48.1.3 regardless of the material strength. LARS also assumes that the entire member is compact when this option is checked.
If this LFD moment distribution option is not checked, no moment redistribution is performed.
