RM-Bridge - Example of prestressed T-Beam bridge

Can anybody send the example of prestressed T-Beam bridge with step by step ?. Please dont reply that this is already included on the training of software itself. It is clear that i am not able understand the steps given in software training thats why i am asking the question.

  • Hello Pardeep,

actually all our training examples are based on step-by-step instructions, so could you please let me know which issue exactly you find difficult to understand, so that I can help you more specifically and maybe improve our documentation.

Further actually we don't have a pre-stressed T-beam example in our training pool, but there is an FAQ which explains the principles of modeling pre-stressed T-beam composite structures - but it presumes the basic knowledge of pre-stressed and composite beams.

So please let me know what exactly you are requiring - at any case I am attaching the mentioned FAQ.

  • Thanks Sir, This is indeed a very useful information for me. Further if you give another example that will helped me further. Actually Sir, I wants to model a simple Beam with given reinforcement and further strengthened with Carbon Fibre Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) on bottom surface two way either by prestressing CFRP Tendon or paste CFRP Strip with Epoxy on the bottom surface. This is my PhD projects. Further can i do the model in such a way access the damaging of structure due to cyclic loading (Fatigue Study) of same specimen.

  • Dear Pardeep, we don't have such examples about CFRP, but it seems it is just a matter of material. So you best have a look at our training examples "Getting Started" and "Pre-stressing Basic", where reinforcement design is shown on the basis of "normal" steel reinforcement. So the only thing you would have to add and adapt is the material of the CFRP. That means you would have to add a new material in RM and define its properties as required. Then you can assign this material to the respective reference sets / attribute sets of the defined reinforcement. Everything else should be straightforward.

There is also a schedule check action called "Fatigue" which will perform a fatigue check (it will print out the differences of max/min stresses due to a certain load combination).
