RC-Pier Shear Design Checks

Am I correct in assuming RC-Pier does not check columns for shear capacity?  Why is this?

Also, when checking footings for one-way and two-way shear,  does RC-pier only check Vc?  I'm being told footing stirrups are required, but don't see an option to add them.

  • Hi Mark,

I agree with you that RCpier program does not check columns for shear capacity . This is one of the limitations of

the program and will request the development team to add this feature in the program.

Yes RCpier checks only the one way and 2 way shear capacity and just mentions that additional required footing stirrups .

Currently there is no option to add the stirrups. The user has to calculate the stirrups separately.

Please let me know if you need any additional information.

    Thanks ,
