QUESTION:  What is the reason CONBOX is calculating the axial forces for Dead Load case?

    ANSWER:

Dead loads are permanent type loads: adding a dead load in the Final case will direct CONBOX to apply the loading in the Final case .

The Loads/Analysis tab allows the user to specify loads and group combinations for (LFD) or limit states designs (LRFD) which  in turn can be used for the two analysis/design cases, Initial and Final. The Initial case checks/designs the structure before losses, the Final case includes losses but allows the structure to sway longitudinally (if this is consistent with the specified boundary conditions).

If the user checks the Initial case for Dead Load (self weight) then there is NO Axial force shown.

But the user will see Axial Force for Final case.

And also if the user removes the tendons then he/she will be seeing NO Axial force in the Final Dead Load case.
