QUESTION: If one has to change the design I have to run the analysis every time, as once designed the design icon gets greyed out.

    ANSWER:

When you add Rebar to the model, it needs to be re-analyzed. This is current workflow in CBX.

If you already know what strands, vertical shear or rebar, then you can enter everything once in the Model page and run the analysis one. But if you’re doing an iterative design step by step, you should re-analyze the structure. It is more refined and accurate, especially if you consider transformed section properties, and time dependent creep and shrinkage etc.

Any change to the model will impact the structural behavior. Automatic “Run Analysis” could slowdown the operation; hence currently it is left to the user to force “Run Analysis”. We are planning to offer Auto Run Analysis as an option in the next release
