QUESTION: In CONBOX Program, are only the rebar's that we identify as “bottom” rebar's considered for positive moment capacity or “top” rebar's are also considered in positive moment capacity calculations?

ANSWER:

The default option selected in CONBOX is Strain Compatibility.

For Strain Compatibility all rebar's at top or bottom will be considered in ultimate moment capacity calculation.

When Equations option is selected only the steel on the tensile side of the section is used (H/2) for moment capacity calculation.
