QUESTION:  How to model Post Tension I Girder in Leap Conbox ?

    ANSWER:

Currently for AASHTO LRFD code the Post Tension I girder option is not available.

But in AASHTO LRFD code there is a workaround solution to design Post Tension I girder but only one girder at a time can be designed.

    Please follow the procedure .

    1) Model a Box girder bridge using ABC wizard .with no Interior girders.

    2) Then go to Conbox Module and then click on Geometry TAB .

    3) Click on Cross Section and in the new Cross section Layout window click on SECTION option under SECTION DEFENITION heading.

    4) In the new Multi Cell CIP box Section window modify the Width of Flange and the thickness of the web as per Project requirement.

    5) Then Under Interior Girders Input the Number as 1 and modify the web thickness.

    6) Under Exterior Girders --> for Left and Right option under TYPE select NONE from Drop/Pull down menu.

    7) Further modification can be done based on your project requirement.

    8) Then click OK and the user should be able to see a single I girder in the section view .

    9) In the Model TAB add tendons and then in the Loads Analysis window add appropriate DL and LL and then finally Run the Analysis.

This is not a direct solution but a workaround solution to design Post Tensioned I girders.
