How to Add Custom Beam Section to Library and Add Height and # of Strands

    OBD version 10.08.02.10

BIM Workflow: The height and the strands can be added either during the interop or later from Strand Pattern > Beam Section Information dialog.

    • When we interop OBM model with Custom Sections to LEAP Bridge Concrete we get a model "Superstructure Custom Beam Section".

    • Select the Beam Type for the custom Section and click OK
    • In the I Beam or Bulb Tee Section dialog click on Template and modify and/or add new Height and # of Strands:

    • If changes are not done during interop you can expand Superstructure > Analysis/Design > Beams > Strand Pattern:

    • Once in Strand Pattern click on  Beam Section Information:

    • In the I Beam or Bulb Tee Section dialog click on Template and modify and/or add new Height and # of Strands:

Standalone Workflow: When working in Standalone Workflow you can open the Beam Section Library and edit the template for the Beam Section

    • When you interop the OBM model to LBC you are presented the dialog to add the section to model as shown above "Superstructure Custom Beam Section".

    • You can also add/modify the height and # of strands once in Superstructure module > Beam Section.
    • Click on Beam Section from the ribbon or click on Library > Beam Section

    • In the Beam Section library select the beam from list and click on Modify and edit the template as required.
