In the last release of OpenBridge Modeler, i.e. v8.2, we removed prior restrictions and allow the users to modify OBM solid elements using the modeling tools. For example, you can now add a hole in the deck to allow a drainage duct, or you could cut a footing solid to avoid conflict with a utility pipeline etc. When the user makes these changes without using the OBM properties, it leads to a different problem where the object properties such as footing length, footing height, footing width become inaccurate. So in this release, we tag these object/element properties with blue squares in the properties window and visually try to inform a user, reviewer that the specific solid has been modified, and the data may or may not be accurate. The quantities (volume etc.) are based on the modified object properties. See a sample screen shot below.
In future releases, we plan to extend this work by allowing the user to attach new properties and make them user editable. So the user can see both the original value that the object was first created with and after the solid modification, the new values that the user chose to represent the modified solid properties with.
