6. ILM - Incremental Launching Method - pushed bridges

The sixth option in the RM Bridge Enterprise Training Examples, 6. ILM - Incremental Launching Method has the datasets and an explanatory document for modeling, analysis and design of a complete  pushed bridge using very effective computational methods using this reference project. It can be accessed at File\Examples\Training Examples by selecting 06 ILM as shown below.

ILM models the final structure of the bridge with some necessary addition of elements like the Casting yard or bed and a Launching nose. The new bridge segments are incrementally sliding into the next position by use of Launching Jacks, so the use of Temporary supports is common. All the preliminary input can be done with the use of the specific ILM Preprocessor tools in RM Bridge.

Besides the structural analysis process can be simplified as much as possible with a FW method, as the bridge is constructed, the bearing conditions change, as well as the model stages. This causes a lot of input for each stage and needs to be addressed by the program. Curved alignments or erection axis are also possible. The final target for the Construction stage analysis of an ILM bridge is to find the Envelope of the ILM stages and combine them with all the final loads using superposition rules.

The training document addresses an ILM description and all the systems preparation with Geometry, Construction Schedule, and Launching. This erection procedure produces interesting solutions for specific bridge projects necessities.
