QUESTION: How to add Custom Beam Section to LARSBridge Precast/Prestressed Library?

    ANSWER:

Steps to add Custom Beam section to the library:

    • Once the Concrete Girder Option is selected, click on Section Library option from the toolbar.
    • In the new window Beam Section Library select the TYPE you wish to create a new section.
    • In the example shown we are selecting I-Girder and under TYPE.  You can either COPY the existing Section ID and modify the Properties or can click on ADD button.
    • In the new window enter a unique ID name and add a Description, enter the new Dimensions and Section Properties and click on Template.  In the example shown CUSTOM AASHTO.
    • In the Template dialog add/adjust the Height and # of Strands and click OK on the Template dialog and the previous dialog.
    • Click on Save to save the new section to the library.
    • In the Standard Section List, user can select the Custom AASHTO section.
    • Then in the Girder definition Dialog box user should be able to select the Custom section for each member.
