    RM Bridge Analyzer: Properties: RM-Sets

    In RM Bridge\Analyzer\Properties\RM-Sets users can create and manage arbitrary groups of commands and/or objects (nodes, elements, load cases, envelopes, result values, etc) for later use in the calculation process at different schedule actions (e.g. plot and print actions, etc). They are widely used to store information, generally on user-defined results for post-processing such as the creation of list files, creation of tables in TDF reports, and graphic result presentation. They may also contain input data for later use in certain calculation actions that would need additional parameters.

    RM-Sets   RM-Sets Type

    As shown in the picture above currently there are 8 different types of RM-Sets to be chosen when the command Insert Before/After the current line is used:

    • Result presentation (RESULT): for element and result selection with or without MACRO;
    • Extended stress checklist (XFIBCHK): for creating a detailed report of fiber stresses;
    • Pier reinforcement design input (PIERDIM): for pier dimensioning, i.e., defining the requirements for extended ultimate load checks;
    • Tendon input for plotting of tendon schedule (TENDDAT): for defining the plots of tendon geometry, tendon stressing, tendon scheme, and tendon schedule;
    • Time integration (TINT): for defining elements and nodes for time history analysis;
    • Live load (LIVE): for defining elements and nodes as well as max/min values in the superposition file for which the influence line evaluation should be performed;
    • Diagrams (PushOver) (DIAGRAM): for selecting components and calculating demand and capacity as inputs at Pushover and PushoverD;
    • Time Integration (RHIST): as input for plotting response Time History analysis diagrams.

    If the group of commands wants to be input, first the RmSet has to be chosen or if new defined. As highlighted in the screenshot above, according to the chosen RmSet in the Top upper list, the respective group of commands in the lower bottom list will be shown. If there is no command yet, the appropriate "Symbol" in the lower part of the table for editing has to be selected. Already existing command lines can be modified/copied/deleted.

    TIP: Instead of using these basic buttons it is recommended to use the INFO button "I" / List generation in blue which provides a comprehensive modification and entry pad dependent on the type of the RmSet.

    A simple example of RM-Set is shown below with all the information required to create the very useful plot of Stresses in the Main Girder at the points in the cross-section fiber top and bottom extremes.

    Res  Pl

    To create such RM-Set user has to select different menu windows and input the necessary data for Elements, Loads/Envelopes and etc. as shown below:

    Besides plots, RM-Sets can produce list files and sheets, as shown below.

    Lst   Sheets

    More detailed guidance can be found in the Training datasets and documents and in the User Manuals.
