How to Export to IFC from the Connect Portal

Navigate in your browser to https://connect.bentley.com and select your connect project and the iModel for export. Note that the features available through the Connect Portal are limited and new functionality is being added only to the iTwin Portal described below.

Named version exports

• From the ProjectWise Projects click on iModels:

• Click on Create iModel:

• Give a iModel name and click on Create:

• Open the OBM bridge model file and click on Collaborate from OpenBridge Modeler workflow and select Associate Project to WorkSet:

• Click on Browse and select the project you wish to associate with the Workset:

• Next Click on Sync to iTwin: 

• Select your project and create a connection:

NOTE:  You may need to Enable the connectors.  Once the Connectors are enabled, click on Save.

• Click on Synchronize followed by Start Synchronization on the following dialog::

• Once Synchronization is complete click on Go to iModel, click on Changes and create a version:

• Once the Named Version is created you can click on View and open the iModel:

• To export the iModel to IFC Click on the ... and then select "Export to IFC"

• The IFC Export dialogue will appear. The folder structure displayed comes from the Project Share for this particular Connect Project. Select the folder where the generated IFC file will be stored.

  You can select to use have the IFC file user either the 4.3 RC1 or 2X3 format.

• Once you have selected the location for the file, and the format, then click on Export and it will schedule the export of the model to IFC.

• You will receive an email once the IFC file has been generated. Go to the Project Share and download the file.
