    Reinforcement Type and Area

    Depending on the Reinforcement Type, the reinforcement area input and results are slightly different, as listed below:

    • Bending: one value for the total reinforcement area;
    • Longitudinal: one value for the total reinforcement area;
    • Shear long: two values for the reinforcement area, the bottom, and the top;
    • Shear web: one value for the required shear reinforcement, as the total per length;
    • Torsion: two values for torsional transversal analysis:
      • At, the maximum reinforcement area, per unit length in the longitudinal direction, for the Stirrups arranged in cuts across the sections;
      • Al: the longitudinal torsion reinforcement as one integral value for the complete effective cross-section that will be usually distributed along the perimeter line.

    Important to notice that the calculated results A2 are additional to the required A1 input and are also dependable on the type of reinforcement as different types of reinforcement will yield distinct results with different meanings.
