Interoperability enhancements and corrections for Open Bridge Designer version 10.11.00.40 (September 2022)

OpenBridge Designer (OBD) CONNECT Edition 2022 Release 1 (v10.11.00.) and its components OpenBridge Modeler (OBM), RM Bridge, LEAP Bridge Concrete (LBC), and LEAP Bridge Steel (LBS) contains the following enhancements and error corrections:

    • Removed the Interoperability tab from the OBD GUI – all the functionalities that where listed under the Interoperability tab can now be accessed directly from OpenBridge Modeler

    • Removed the copy of the active dgn from the database – prior to this release, OBD was saving a copy of the active dgn in the database. While this was intended to provide a backup of the active file, it was increasing the database file size, thus making it harder to work on a PW environment. Another drawback was the fact that the referenced files where not backed up in the database. Starting from this release, no backup of the active dgn will be made into the database.
    • Read OBM tub girders into RM Bridge – starting with this release, the tub girders modeled in OBM can be transferred to RM Bridge

    • Read OBM tub girders into LEAP Bridge Steel – starting with this release, the tub girders modeled in OBM can be transferred to LEAP Bridge Steel with the following limitations:
      • The rotations of the sections from OBM are not supported in LEAP Bridge Steel. The girders will be modeled without the rotation that follows the deck slope.
      • For steel tub girders supported by one bearing in OBM, LEAP Bridge Steel will create 2 bearings after the transfer, due to a limitation in LEAP Bridge Steel

    • Permit Unicode characters in the name of the files
    • Transfer custom footings and custom piles from OBM to LEAP
    • Added a checkbox in transfer dialogue to initialize the RM folder. If there are major changes in 3D model which needs regeneration of analytical model the user will be able to choose this option and re-initialize the RM project folder.
    • When diaphragms have a contact surface with common nodes, between different spans, diaphragms will be transferred to RM as a unique cross-member.
    • Updated information regarding transfer limitation to analytics.
    • Fixed an error where the edge bearings modeled in OBM as a stepped cap where created outside of the cap in LBS.
    • Fixed and error when the export from OBM to RM fails if no transversal members are generated for precast girder bridges.
    • Fixed an error where the export from OBM to RM fails to create proper cross section for RC girder model.
    • Fixed an error where during the export from OBM to RM wrong eccentricities where applied to the diaphragms.
