FEM Live Loads Tips and Tricks

OBD CE 2022 Release 1 and RM Bridge v11.14 is now able to compute and allow access to shell forces, stresses, and displacement results corresponding to integrals of lead components in a finite element model, after a live load analysis is performed.

For a successful FEM Live Load Analysis, the User needs to follow the below steps:

1. Influence Surface Number

When defining Traffic Lanes, the Influence Surface number needs to be introduced.

2. 1D and 2D Load Trains

In Load Trains definition, the User can create 1D or 2D Load Trains.

3. Calculate all Influence Lines from the same Surface before “LiveL”

In Live Load stages, the User has to run all Influence Lines from the same surface before “LiveL” schedule action is performed.

4. “LiveL” schedule action

Run “LiveL” schedule action for Live Load envelope calculation.

5. Recalculation pad: Store leading envelope results for finite elements

For saving shell force results for leading components, the following selection needs to be done.
