QUESTION: Lp and Ln in Leap Bridge steel connector report mean?

    ANSWER:

Location of maximum positive LL+I moment (Max Live Load) relative to the POI location is determined

    For continuous spans:

    End spans:

    • Lp – Distance (arc length for curved bridge) from beginning of span to Max Positive Live Load location
    • Ln1… – Distance from Max Positive Live Load location to interior support

Interior spans will have 2 Ln values.

    • One is the distance from Max Positive Live Load location to the back interior support (Ln2…)
    • and the other is the distance from Max Positive Live Load location to the ahead interior support (Ln3…)
