Inside File\Examples\Demo Examples & FAQ users will find the Frequently Asked Questions and Solutions section for RM Bridge in OpenBridge Designer. It has CFD capabilities that allow the simulation of static wind coefficients thru Computer Fluid Dynamics. The Steady State Drag, Lift, and Moment Coefficients are the fundamental aerodynamic characteristics of the bridge deck and can be estimated in the design phase of the project. Deck and pier alternatives for long-span bridges can be previously tested and analyzed for Wind Buffeting response based on these preliminary results that later must be confirmed by wind tunnel testing. Typical cross-section values can be found in the literature, but any modification requires adjustments. The cost advantages of an in-house solution are huge when compared to the required extensive laboratory modeling.

Aero Classes are defined for each structure cross-section and a numerical sectional model wind tunnel simulation is done for each based on the VPM - Vortex Particle Method
