QUESTION: What is the purpose of the option “Include in the Finite Element Analytical Model” in Stiffener location window?

ANSWER:

Generally, LBS does not add the stiffeners in any of the analytical model. It is only used in the design. That checkbox allows to take them in to consideration in the FEA AM only. Users can see plates arising at the place of stiffeners once the users check that box on. By default it is checked off to keep the number of (plates) elements under control. Checking that box will generate lot more plate elements slowing down the analysis process. So, one needs to be aware of the consequences of checking this option.
