QUESTION: Does Live Load Maximum Support reactions include LLDF and IM factor in Leap Bridge Steel?

ANSWER:

In Tutorial 1, first trial LLDF for Member 2 was generated and the IM value was 1.33 and LL support reaction report was generated.

In the second trial the LLDF for Member 2 was changed to 1.0 and also IM value was changed to 1.0 and LL support reaction report was generated. In this case the Maximum Support reaction was equal to Combination of Support reaction of Vehicular Effect and Lane effect.

Member 2 - Support Location - 0.00 ft

Maximum Support reactions

1) LLDF included and IM = 1.33 , Fy =  100.80 kips

2) LLDF = 1.0 and IM = 1 , Fy = 85.85 kips

Vehicular effect Fy = 60.807 kips

Lane Effect Fy = 25.043 kips

Maximum Support reactions does include the LLDF and Impact factor.

Vehicular and lane effect does not include the LLDF and Impact factor.
