If when installing OpenBridge Designer, the error shown in the picture above occurs it means that the installation of Bentley Structural Property Catalog Server failed with error code 0x80070643. Fatal error sent during installation

The error may be because some Bentley software was not uninstalled properly, or a low version of the spc*.msi file was installed, causing the Bentley Structural Property Catalog Server exception. Although it could show that it is installed, no category exists, so an error is reported when installing SPCServer.

Three possible solutions:

1. Try to download it again and use this new saved file.

2. Go to Control Panel to uninstall Structural Property Catalog CONNECT Edition, then reinstall the main program. If it cannot be found in the control panel, install the following SPC*.msi file in the offline installation package, then install the main program.

3. Instead of installing the program directly from the installer, you can create a deployment image layout and then try with that.

4. If the issue persists, perform a clean installation

Notice:

Although the error log file contains contents such as Failed to * MSI package, you cannot directly run the .msi file in the offline installation package. Please run the Setup_OpenBridgeDesignerx64_XX_Full.exe file directly.
