Manually generated Wind Load (WS)

QUESTION:  LRFD7-2016 Interims design code which uses new wind on structure provisions in which there are different loads associated with different load combinations (Strength Limit State III, V and Service within a single run).  When WS load is manually generated, the generated load combinations are applied to all limit states instead of just the specific as required by code.

ANSWER:  When we Auto-Generate the WS load we internally tag the loads so that the program knows which load goes with which default load group.  If you manually create the WS loads for each load group and then generate the load combinations the internal tags are not there, and the generated load combinations will not be for the specific load groups but be using all loads.

If you want to manually generate the load, then as a workaround, please auto generate the loads first and then change the values as desired.  This way the internal tags will remain, and the load combination will get created as per the load groups.

An enhancement request is with development team, and I am expecting it to be included in the 2024 release later this year.
