Action "PreTens" to Include the Elastic Losses for Precast Tendons

Question: How to consider the elastic losses for precast tendons?

Answer: The Schedule Action PreTens includes the elastic losses for pre-tensioned tendons.

The elastic losses can only be considered for pre-tensioned tendons when the stressing sequence is not simulated by the usual action Stress but is defined as nominal PT-force in the tendon definition itself and is applied by the Schedule Action PreTens. Only in this case, the elastic losses from the stressing sequence are considered in the tendon force distribution of the tensioned tendon

Hint: For post-tensioned tendons, the tendon forces are defined only in Stress and applied to the active structure and tendon without consideration of any elastic losses.
