What's New Highlights
• Graphical Column Schedules
Graphical Column Schedules functionality is re-introduced, simplified, and works within the Building Drawing Composition workflow. Automatically create steel and concrete column schedule reports using physical and analytical data contained in your Structural model. This includes concrete reinforcement data imported via ISM.
• Stair Tool Enhancements
Stair interface integrated – The Stair tool is now integrated with the Ribbon Bar interface and uses the common properties dialog when placing or modifying stairs. Stair placement settings are now listed on the contextual Placement ribbon tab, and all properties are located on the standard Place Stair Property Panel. Stair Construction Settlings Dialog - A new Stair Construction Settings dialog replaces the previous Stair Properties dialog and Stair Placement Settings toolbox. Settings for managing stair configurations are consolidated in the new dialog. Ability to Rotate Stair Run - Stairs with landings and more than one run now contain a handle at the center of the ending run. This handle can be manipulated to Change Flight Angle or rotate the direction of the second run about the landing center point.
• Railing Tool Enhancements
Place Railing options - New options added to the Place Railing contextual ribbon tab (Placement > Placement Options) provide additional flexibility to construct complex railings, with or without the start/end post and to segment railings along an arc. User-Defined Parametric Balusters and Panels - The Railing Construction Settings - Balusters tab is enhanced to provide you with two new methods for creating parametric balusters and panels in your railing assembly.
• Unified Join Tool
Joining tools functionality is enhanced to provide a generic Join Element tool that can join Architectural, Mechanical, and Structural elements. Previously, these Building disciplines had separate joining tools.
• Space tool User Interface
The previous Create Space user interface is standardized to use the common properties dialog and contextual ribbon tabs when placing or modifying spaces. Spaces placement settings are now listed on the contextual Placement ribbon tab, and all properties are located on the standard Create Space Property Panel.
Reporting of area and volume of modeled solids and/or surfaces within Building Schedules - When users attach a Catalog definition to user-defined modeled solids and/or surfaces, they can now report on their available surface area and/or volume.
The key to adding these two values to any schedule would be to include two specifically named properties in the object schema: 1) a property with the name of “SurfaceArea” with an “Area Units” data type to report on the modeled objects Surface Area 2) a property with the name of “NetVolume” with a “Volume Units” data type to report on the modeled objects Net Volume, if available (not available on surface models) (Note: In its current implementation, volume is associated to any property with a volume data type. This will be corrected to be focused on the “NetVolume” property name in the next update)
