The OpenBuildings product team is pleased to announce the availability of OpenBuildings Speedikon CONNECT Edition Update 1 (v10.01.00.20) through the Software Downloads portal. OpenBuildings Speedikon CONNECT Edition Update 1 is the next version for speedikon CONNECT Edition. It includes the brand transition to OpenBuildings and contains numerous productivity improvements and error fixes. The product is available in two languages - English and German and contains six localized datasets - German DIN, Neutral Metric, British Standard, Netherlands, USA (Imperial + Metric). The German dataset is optimized according to German DIN construction standards.
Installation + Configuration:
Download - Download the version via the Software Downloads portal. Select OpenBuildings Speedikon as product, version 10.01.00.20, language English, deliverable type Installer and click Apply. Download the product OpenBuildings Speedikon CONNECT Edition x64 (SES) Update 1 (English). You do not need any other prerequisite software.
Readme and help files - The most important requirements and hints for installation and configuration can be found in the Readme file in the chapters Installation and QuickInstall Guide. For more information, please refer to the Update manual, chapters 1 - 6. PowerProduct - OpenBuildings Speedikon CONNECT Edition Update 1 is a PowerProduct and contains the complete MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 14 functionality (v10.14.03.007) in its installation package. Only one installer is needed. Deployment Image Installation - This version uses the latest Bentley installation technology. You can easily create a deployment image for silent installations, multiple installations, or installations without an Internet connection. You can find explanations in the help and in the communities.Installation - This version requires a new installation because the folder structure has changed significantly. You can install and use this version in parallel with Bentley speedikon Architectural v8i or Bentley speedikon Industrial v8i. If you have installed Bentley speedikon CONNECT Edition 10.00.00.25, please uninstall this version before installing OpenBuildings speedikon CONNECT Edition Update 1. A parallel installation of 10.00.00.25 and Update 1 is technically possible, but after uninstalling version 10.00.00.25, OpenBuildings Speedikon CONNECT Edition Update 1 must also be uninstalled and reinstalled. Update - Starting with the follow-up version OpenBuildings Speedikon CONNECT Edition Update 2, a simple update will be possible, e.g. via the CONNECTION client. Custom configuration - OpenBuildings Speedikon CONNECT Edition Update 1 for the first time supports custom configuration during installation and operation. We strongly recommend using the custom configuration for your productive work. You select the directory for the custom configuration during installation. Company standard - If a custom configuration is selected during installation, the Speedikon company standard is also created there and searched for by Speedikon. The user.ini is then also read from there. With the variable IEZstd in the user.ini, you can place your Speedikon company standard in any folder.
Licensing SES Licensing - OpenBuildings Speedikon CONNECT Edition Update 1 uses SES licensing via the CONNECTION client. A license of OpenBuildings Speedikon (ID 2831) is required to use the product. Further information can be found in the Speedikon FAQ and here.

OpenBuildings Speedikon now belongs to the OpenBuildings brand. The product name has been updated to OpenBuildings Speedikon. You start OpenBuildings Speedikon with its full functionality via the new orange product icon.
OpenBuildings Speedikon CONNECT Edition Update 1 contains in its installation package the complete MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 14 functionality (v10.14.03.007). If you have been using speedikon CONNECT Edition up to now, you will benefit from all new features and improvements that are included in MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 12, 13 and 14. If you have been using speedikon V8i up to now, you will benefit from all the new features and improvements that are included in MicroStation CONNECT Edition. These are 15 versions full of interesting new features and improvements!

Many MicroStation CONNECT Edition training videos and tutorials are available on the LEARNserver.One new feature is Physical Based Rendering (PBR) - OpenBuildings Speedikon now supports Physical Based Rendering (PBR). PBR method of rendering accurately represents a material's surface based on its interactions with light. You can create more realistic looking materials that work well in all lighting environments. Use the gray OpenBuildings Speedikon MicroStation icon in the Windows Start Menu to start only the MicroStation functionality.
OpenBuildings Designer - During installation, OpenBuildings Designer CONNECT Edition Update 7 is displayed as a companion application. OpenBuildings Designer is a standalone BIM product that is installed together with OpenBuildings Speedikon. As a Bentley Systems user with an active Speedikon license agreement, you have a license for both OpenBuildings Designer and OpenBuildings Speedikon. You can use OpenBuildings Designer at no extra cost and start it via the blue icon.

Project Manager Select WorkSpace and WorkSet - Using the OpenBuildings Speedikon tab, you can easily select the WorkSpace and WorkSet for all projects or for each project specifically. The WorkSpace and WorkSet can be located in the directory of the custom configuration or the delivered configuration.
Project Editor
All space attributes listed - In the Project Editor all available properties are now displayed under the category Spaces. There are now 35 columns of space properties, 17 more than before. Easy editing is possible - including Excel export + import.
Dimensioning Dimension Round Slab Openings - The center point and diameter of placed round and elliptical roof/slab/floor/ceiling - openings can now be easily dimensioned using new dimension points.
IFC 4 Export
IFC 4 Export - IFC export is now done via the current IFC 4 RV (Reference View) format. Umlauts in the file path - Even if the file path contains umlauts, such as ä,ö,ü,ß or è, the IFC export is performed correctly.
