The DataGroup system is one of two systems that encompass the information systems in OpenBuildings Designer. It is the core of Information Modeling for OpenBuildings Designer and consists of sets of “data”. This system is key for data management in OpenBuildings and is used to track and schedule items.

In this Coffee Corner let’s explore OpenBuildings Designer’s DataGroup System to create Schedules and Reports, talking about:

  • Custom schedules: filter, sort, group, count, and format
  • Place Schedules on a Sheet as a Table
  • Export Schedules to Excel to update Pivot Tables
  • Excel Exchange tool for Bidirectional Editing
