In this Coffee Corner we will explore OpenBuildings Designer workflows for delivering linear infrastructure projects using geo-referencing. We will review the significance of Geographic Coordinate Systems (GCS), and the suitability of modeling within the designated Solids Working Area, (SWA).

OpenBuildings Designer geo-coordination workflows:

  • Creating a geo-coordinated seed file for OpenBuildings Designer
    • Referencing the civil infrastructure survey model 
    • Setting up a transformed geographic coordination system
  • Developing building models in OpenBuildings Designer 
    • Referencing geo-coordinated civil infrastructure models 
    • Referencing geo-coordinated iTwins for coordination
    • Federated workflows for producing deliverables
  • Exporting buildings models to Google Earth
  • Referencing the Building Master Model in civil applications for coordination
