AECOsim Building Designer V8i, SELECTseries 5 ( v08.11.09.747), Commercial Release

We are pleased to announce that the commercial release of AECOsim Building Designer V8i, SELECTseries 5 ( v08.11.09.747), is now available on SELECTservices Download/MySELECTCD, under the Download Category: SELECT Released Products or you can try our new Software Fulfillment Center. This release contains new features and capabilities that increases productivity and interoperability, as well as enhances user experience even more.

This AECOsim Building Designer V8i, SELECTseries 5 version can be installed alongside any previous commercially released versions of AECOsim Building Designer, AECOsim Building Designer priority build, or other Bentley application and should not interfere with the users’ current production environment.

Additional SELECTseries 5 localized datasets will be released subsequently throughout the next month and will be available on SELECTservices Download/MySELECTCD, under the Enhancements and Updates download category. 

The schema and dataset changes between AECOsim Building Designer, SELECTseries 5 and the SELECTseries 4 datasets are minimal and primarily accommodate the new features of SELECTseries 5, as well as a few corrections. This should allow users to quickly and easily migrate their projects/datasets from AECOsim Building Designer SELECTseries 4 to SELECTseries 5. The dataset changes are documented in a dataset delta document delivered within each localized datasets.

A few highlighted features and capabilities include:

• More Building Content:  Now users can use Autodesk® Revit® RFA parametric content in AECOsim Building Designer while maintaining the geometry, data, and behaviors of the content. This opens the door for users to incorporate thousands of manufacturer content, from lighting fixtures to furniture.
• Multi-Category Reporting:  Users can easily generate reports and view project information with the custom data, formatting, and layout they desire. Reports now include the ability to view multiple categories in a single report allowing users to mix and match categories.
• IFC Enhancements:  With 64-bit scalability to handle larger models, up to 35% reduction in process time, and as much as 70% reduction of large files, users can quickly load and export large models.
• Duct Sizer Tool:  Improves the ability for users to properly size a HVAC duct to minimize waste and maximize mechanical systems efficiently.
