I was referring to the Mesh tools, but the Facet tool you've found should work as well and also does generate a mesh.
It is TOOLS>MESH you talk about?
hm - is it the same tool as Facet? or a new engine?

Regarding the differences between the two... I honestly have no idea! I don't really work with our Mesh tools that often to know whether it's different code or just UI.
