Any idea where the steeldeck properties are defined?
how to define Structural liner trays ( can be simplified)
but the under flange should be down
regards Rik
Hi Rik,
To model the geometry of that liner tray you could use the Place Profile tool, looks like the profiles are available to download from Tata. A profile will not be a structural object.
You cannot change or add to the structural shapes that we currently provide, however the forthcoming integration of ProStructures functionality will enable user creation of structural shapes.
The OpenBuildings Structural Deck tool will not be changed by the first phase of ProStructures integration.
(Note, this integration is replacing the existing code in OpenBuildings structural design features with the equivalent code/features from ProStructures so we only make structural objects one way. ProStructures will continue to exist as a structural detailing product.)

For the Deck tool, as mentioned back in 2014 I believe the metal decking pulls its data from the Structure Property Catalog via the SPC Server. You can see both of these in the Windows Programs & Features dialog:
However, this system was never designed to be user-definable as the messaging included states: "Note : Usage of Bentley Structure Property Catalog Client library is restricted to Bentley internal and authorized users only."
But since you were interested, it looks like the Deck "profiles" in the placement tool equate to the standard deck templates as shown in the following images. First there are the four included Structure Property Catalogs that also appear in Programs & Features. Each of these catalogs include Sub-Systems, one of which is Metal Decks. And within the Metal Deck type there are the Verco and ASC standards that each contain various metal deck shapes and sizes. I've matched up a few of these properties with what I believe are their counterparts in the placement dialog.
very interesting, what program/ viewer are you using to see this schema, can this be edit?
I'm using the Structural Property Catalog Management application. However, it is simply a viewer for the associated section databases so not editable. If you want to know more please file a SR with support since it is an undocumented and unsupported tool.
from the help files:" Note: Usage of Bentley Structure Property Catalog Client library is restricted to Bentley internal and authorized users only. "
so we can't use it?
Basically... yes. It was not designed to be a user-based tool. Unfortunately I don't know much beyond that.
