New Joist Tool vs the older Bar Joist Modeling Tool

 New Joist Tool vs. the Old Bar Joist Modeling Tool 
 
 The new joist program although it may work well with ISM (I haven&rsquo;t tested this yet) doesn&rsquo;t offer the level of detail needed for construction documents. When placing a joist with the old Bar Joist Modeling tool the joist seats come in accurately, it allows you to set the seat height and bearing. The negative I am aware of with the Bar Joist Modeling tool is if you have a joist extension the envelope does not honor the extension, and then you would need to drop the element to adjust the envelope which is used in both DVs and extractions resymbolization. 
 The new Joist Tool does not allow you to control the seat height nor does it show the seat. It also seems to put the top of the joist at the bearing points. 
 
 So the options are use the old Bar Joist Modeling tool and drop the joist, or use the new Joist Tool and add the joist seat at the detail level. Am I doing something wrong with the new tool, or is this accurate to what you have seen?

This is also our experience with the new bar joist tool. We have as you know left the old bar joist tool in for our users by way of the key-in. so having said that, it is our hope that using the new bar joist tool in tandem with the old tool, will give you the desired effect.

@ Eric M. - Agreed you have to pick one or the other. And so far I have always picked the old one, I find the newer tool to be useless.
