Place User Defined type

Hello,

I really wanna make a User defined type.

I tried various method with tutorial but I could not make a user defined type model

1. Create Catalog Type -> Catalog Item -> Compound Cell Manger (create BXC) -> Connect with "ParaDef" (Parametric Type "BXC". Parametric File "FootingL

2. Place User Defined -> Can't find my Catalog Item in the list...

How can i solve that Problem,

I read some Article for this, they say that I have to save the file BXC on the specific Folder

but, I cant not find the Folder that I have to save in

Please give me answer.

  • DongWook,

The compound cell library (Modular11.bxc) needs to be located in a directory defined by the configuration variable TFDIR_CELL.  By default TFDIR_CELL has two values:

    • ...\WorkSpace\projects\BuildingExamples\BuildingTemplate_US\support\dataset\cell\
    • ...\WorkSpace\BuildingDatasets\Dataset_US\cell\

You can check the directory values for TFDIR_CELL from the Workspace menu > Configuration.  Scroll through the list in the top-right part of the dialog that opens to find TFDIR_CELL and the values will be shown in the white box below that.

If your Modular11.bxc is not located in one of those directories, move it to one then close and reopen AECOsim Building Designer.

If it is located in one of those directories already, let us know and we can try to narrow it down further.
