You're welcome. I'm glad that helped.

For your first question, I think that ceiling height has always worked that way but I certainly can't remember why! It could be that the database is hard-coded to Meters, but I'd have to investigate that further to know for sure.

For the Hangers themselves, it looks like they're drawn from the file echanger.ini under the workspace's \metadata folder, but I can't tell if the geometry is from a cell library or from the basic solids also used for Symbol Manager. Either way though, if you're seeing a consistent crash please log an SR with support outlining those details so that a defect can be filed (assuming one does not already exist).

The other thing in relation to this, using the Dataset_GB, I would like to understand how is the hanger tool coded - ie where does it read the "select hanger" information. I can see it automatically loads a cell library however the names in the tool do not math the names in the cell library... The reason I am asking is the application crashes when selecting hangers and brackets... Also when selecting Threaded Rods in the "select hanger" dropdown, the app says "nothing selected"...

Thanks Steve, that helps. Perhaps you can clarify why the ceiling height in electrical application does not match the master units of the design file (in my case mm)... The ceiling heights are all in meters, including in the Design setup dialog/3D tab...

The electrical portion does include hangers for Raceway and Lighting fixtures:

If you need either Mechanical hangers or something different, I would suggest using the RFA Import tool as an alternative (assuming that this component type is available).
