SS5 - Can door Architraves be turned off?

I can see that door architraves parameter can be hidden in edit catalogs, but it appears this only means the parameter is hidden when modifying a door.

what I want is a door with no architrave at all, ie external doors do not usually have an architrave and some internal doors have a different architrave profile that the one that is loaded when inserting a door.

  • I do agree with the comments re, watch the effect on the other parametrics, sends things crazy.
I would prefer a straight forward toggle on or off for the architrave.

External doors and also glazed doors within glazed partitions appear to be almost impossible without compromise.

I have managed a work around by setting the frame depth to a value that is the wall width less both architrave depths and then the architrave sits flush with the wall, not ideal as my door schedule is now incorrect when exporting.

  • This is where a customized door would come into play if the delivered versions are not suitable for your project. However, keep in mind that PC Studio, which was used for most doors and windows, isn't the easiest software to learn. So depending on your needs it could be more efficient to use Parametric Frame Builder or even create Compound Cells if you don't require parametrics and/or do not require a lot of different sizes.
